Firefly Aerospace's first test flight Alpha FLTA001 DREAM on September 2, 2021, was a significant milestone, showcasing the team's ability to launch rockets and achieve supersonic speeds. Though the mission ended early due to an engine shutdown caused by an electrical short, the experience provided critical flight data. This data enabled Firefly to address the issue and achieve a successful orbital flight on their second launch attempt (FLTA002).
